Name: Celaeno Electra Hobbes
Age: 15
Year: 2
Parentage: Mnemosyne
Allegiance: She pretends to be allied with the Titans, but is secretly gathering information so she can help the Olympians when war breaks out.
Appearance: Cela is short. Extremely so. She’s been mistaken for a twelve-year-old before, and is too shy to do much besides laugh awkwardly and try to gently point out her real age.
Her facial features are also childlike, with large round lime-green eyes and long bronze lashes. Her eyebrows are the same metallic coppery color as her eyelashes and her hair, which is extremely wavy and long. It grows at a rate of approximately two inches a day (thanks, Mom), so she has to cut it almost every other day to keep it short enough to maneuver. Usually it’s about as long as her hips, and Cela keeps it back in a tight plait.
Cela’s favorite colors are green and white, and her dress makes this painfully obvious. Much of the time she’ll run around in white tennis shoes, green shorts, and a green-and-white striped polo shirt. People have told her she looks like a preppy before. Those people are then very guilty when Cela looks heartbroken.
Personality: Cela is a very… shall we say, inattentive person? She may have the memory of an elephant, but remembering things is easier when you pay attention to absorb them in the first place. However, some of the time when it seems like she hasn’t been listening, she can often repeat the conversation word-by-word later. It has been suggested she’d be a great court reporter, being able to transcript every word.
Cela has a thing for weaving small rugs. And if you need her, that is probably where you will find her—sitting on the porch of the Hermes cabin with Ari, weaving a small rug on a loom she found in some flea market somewhere. Currently she’s working on making enough of these to stitch them together and make a rug for the Hermes cabin, to ‘brighten it up’ a little. She regards Ari as her ward, is a little overprotective of her, and when she’s not on the porch weaving she’ll probably be wheeling the albino around and enduring numerous insults.
She looks upon herself as sort of a mother figure and the camp therapist, and tries to help people with their problems whenever she can. Cela is very good at baking cookies, especially white-chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and on holidays she shirks her Ari-minding duties (usually handing the albino off to whoever she can find who she trusts) to run to the kitchen and bake like a machine.
She’s very into education and history, even more so than some of the Athena campers, and was one of the only campers pushing for Camp to have some typical school-type classes outside of summer. While her mother is the goddess of memory and the past, Cela is continually looking forward, and is a definite optimist, though she can get worried about some of the weirdest things, like whether a cookie is squishy enough or too crunchy.
Cela has some minor powers involving the return of memory.
