Name: Nerissa Lillian Bywater; called "Issy" by friends.
Age: 18
Year: 9
Parentage: Amphitrite and Elijah Seward (Deceased); raised by Jane and Alex Bywater.
Allegiance: Olympians
Appearance: Nerissa's appearance has changed, now that two years have passed. She is still tall, but has gained some weight. She has little shape to her now more-athletic form, which is a little awkward. Her skin remains olive, but it has darkened in tone now that she spends more time outdoors. Her eyes, too, are unchanged, remaining the same deep seagreen color with thin eybrows and lashes. But as far as appearances go, the thing that has changed the most dramatically is Nerissa's hair - while it is still black with a tannish sheen, gone are the two long wavy pigtails. She now keeps it straightened, and is cut in layers to her mid-back. Her bangs are long and also cut in straight, loose layers across her forehead. When she is teaching, Nerissa pulls it into a low ponytail with a teal ribbon, but when she isn't teaching, she leaves it loose.
As for her clothing, Nerissa now favors a pair of blue jeans and a blue Camp t-shirt she made, and a pair of white tennis shoes and ankle socks. When she feels like it, however, Nerissa goes back to her old favorites of sundresses and skirts. She can almost always be found wearing a small silver whistle and a pearl necklace, which was a gift from her mother, Amphitrite. She also always wears a pair of small pearl earrings.
Model: Camilla Belle
Personality: Nerissa is probably your friend, and if you're not, someone who is her friend is probably going to ask you if you were also the cause of the Ethiopian Rift. She's very nice - almost painfully nice, as some have said. Very accepting and tolerant, Nerissa is the sort of person who would rather stay quiet and enjoy life in an easy, laid-back manner.
However, she's changed a bit. Becoming Camp Half-Blood's rowing team captain wound up making Nerissa finally realize that it's not really a good idea to have your head in the clouds all the time, as a team mate may come soclosetheysawthelight to drowning. She also learned that being so susceptible to emotions is also not a good idea, and as a result, Nerissa is less dreamy and less sensitive. She still leans towards those once in a while, and she's still a good person to confide in.
Nerissa's not always the laid-back friend, however. If you do manage to tick her off, you probably have an eternal enemy, or at least someone who will give you creepy glares as you're heading up to the fire to scrape off your meal offering. When Nerissa's angry or depressed she refuses to talk, and if you, as a friend, annoy her, she has a tendency to start groaning at you until you start pleading "What did I do?". She will then shrug at you and walk off in the other direction.
To a certain extent, Nerissa's too trusting. She doesn't want to see bad in people. (However, she doesn't trust Sable Ackerman.) She also sometimes does really bizarre things no one gets, like suddenly adopting a routine of balancing eggs by Luminita's bed, and also has a tendency that when she gets depressed, she stays depressed for a really long time before Aimée hits her over the head with her trusty rubber chicken screaming "CHEER UP, FREAK!" The Hermes cabin often considers her the "mother".
Good Habits: Nerissa, as stated before, is a good person. She's kind, trusting, and easy-going. As for powers, however, she's not the best. It's a wonder if she can even make a ripple in water, which is the only thing she can control. It's an ongoing project for her. However, Amphitrite's pearl necklace also helps, as it allows her to remain invisible under water.
Bad Habits: Nerissa does have some bad habits. Mainly she cab ne too trusting, and she adopts nonsensical habits. She can also be irrational and not concentrate on what she should be. She's really bad at anything that's not swimming or water, and let's not get started on her fighting skills.
Interests: Nerissa is interested in seashells, the history of Spain, chickens, rowing, swimming, and crocheting. She is also interested in finally convincing Sable that the pigtail bondage fetish really needs to go.
